About YJP
Young Jewish Phoenix (YJP) is a new collaborative project designed to develop and create dynamic ways to engage the Jewish young adult population of greater Phoenix. Young Jewish Phoenix is for young Jewish singles and couples, ages 22-40.
YJP provides opportunities for young adults to build and maintain Jewish connections with one another and the organized Jewish community through events and experiences with other agencies, synagogues, Jewish organizations and volunteer directed groups.
YJP evolved from the need to provide and promote social opportunities for young Jewish adults in our growing community. Young Jewish Phoenix has been created to work together and strengthen the programming that current young professional groups are undertaking, as well as provide other meaningful opportunities for the young Jewish adults that have not yet been provided in this community.
YJP is a project of the Jewish Federation, not a department. What will make this different from the former Young Leadership Division model is that programming and events will be driven by the committees, which are open for anyone within the target demographic to join. The idea was to create a structure, which will enable young Jewish adults to come together around interest areas and ensure ongoing programming, discussions and planning. This new concept will ensure continuity in young adult programming in the years to come.
YJP's committee structure has been created around five different interest areas: Jewish Education and Israel, Outreach and Social Networking, Community Service, Fundraising and Leadership Development. Committees are open to any young Jewish adult to join based on their interests.
If you would like to get involved and join one of our YJP committees, feel free to contact us at info@youngjewishphoenix.org or call 480-634-4900, x1134.
