Adventures of the Rabbi Who Became a Flight Attendant

Rabbi David Pinkwasser is the rabbi emeritus at Temple Emanuel of Tempe, where he served as senior rabbi for over 20 years. After retirement, most clergy become a teacher or a chaplain. Rabbi Pinkwasser was a high school teacher for 16 years and a prison chaplain for 13 years.  He needed a different direction. He always had a dream of being a flight attendant, but in the past, that had been a career reserved for woman. Now, he was able to fulfill this vision and worked at Southwest Airlines for the next 22 years.

Rabbi Pinkwasser will share some of the stories and adventures that happen on the inside of both these careers, which he wrote about in his new book, “The Adventures of the Rabbi Who Became a Flight Attendant.”

Most people know what they see visually. This gathering will break these preconceived notions.  You’ll find hysterical stories and touching moments. You’ll never look at these two professions the same way again.  You’ll be inspired, amused, entertained and laugh a lot.
