Constructive Disagreement

**Please note, that this event will no longer take place as it has been cancelled

We live in a moment of unprecedented breakdown in civil discourse. However, our Jewish tradition upholds the principle that constructive disagreement for the sake of heaven (Mahloket L’Shem Shamayim) is not only imperative, but is the holy work needed to repair what can feel like irreconcilable differences that permeate within our communities.

Guided by the belief that Jewish texts and their diverse interpretations can empower us to engage more constructively in disagreements, we are offering a four-week class on constructive disagreement taught by Karolyn Benger, a student at Yeshivah Maharat and a nonprofit consultant specializing in faith-based and social justice organizations.

By the end of these four online classes, you will be better able to:

  • Navigate difficult conversations
  • Be a voice for respectful dialogue during these conversations
  • Understand why these conversations are difficult
  • Have a network of peers with shared training and support
  • ·Be a better leader within your Jewish community

(There is no class on Nov. 23.)
