Perhaps most familiar as the music of the 19th and early 20th century Eastern European shtetl, klezmer music has its origins in the Middle Ages as an important element of the Jewish wedding. The term, “klezmer” — originally used to describe the itinerant musicians themselves —  is a contraction of the Hebrew words, kley-zemer and can be translated as “vessel of song”.

No backpacks or purses will be allowed at the concert. A clear purse or bag can be utilized.
