Rabbi Aviva Funke is the Associate Director of the BJE and Principal of Hebrew High. Native to Scottsdale, Rabbi Aviva was ordained at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles where she then began working as a day school rabbi for Brawerman East of Wilshire Boulevard Temple before returning home in 2020. She is passionate about prayer innovation and revitalization, building community, and creating accessible and meaningful Judaism for all. Rabbi Aviva is married to Yosef of 15 years and they have 3 sons: E.B. (9), Amitov (3) and Leo (7 months).
