The Life and Art of Artemisia Gentileschi

January 14, 2025 Chandler Free
Art Museum – Tuesdays at the J

“Fame, Fickle Fame: The Life and Art of Artemisia Gentileschi’ will be presented by Phoenix Art Museum docent Patrick Ventura at the East Valley JCC’s Jan. 14 Tuesdays at the J program.

Andy Warhol said, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” Is fame fickle? Consider the careers of Taylor Swift, Lady Di, Elvis Presley, and so many others.
Artemisia Gentileschi knew what it was like to be famous, because she was famous in her lifetime. But she is not so famous these days. She is indisputably the greatest female artist of the Baroque Era, and some consider her to be one of the greats of all time. Let’s spend some time exploring her achievements.

The program starts at 10 a.m. with refreshments, the presentation starts at 10:30 a.m.

Registration is required.
