A virtual event presentation by Samuel Lebens

Is there any way for the Jew to make sense of our belief in an all-powerful, all-loving, and all-knowing God, in the face of all the pain and suffering that we see around us. How might philosophical acrobatics conducted in the ivory tower, regarding the problem of evil, have any impact on the lived experience of faith in the face of suffering?

Samuel Lebens is an Orthodox Rabbi and an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Haifa. He has published books and articles on a wide array of topics, from the work of Bertrand Russell, to the philosophy of Judaism. He specialises in metaphysics, epistemology, the philosophy of literature, and the philosophy of religion. He lives with his wife and three children in Netanya, Israel.
