Yom Hashoah commemoration

The Center for Holocaust Education of the East Valley JCC will host a Yom Hashoah commemoration, “Voices Silenced: Music from the Holocaust,” a lecture-recital featuring music by three composers who were killed in the Holocaust. a testimony by Holocaust survivor and author Dirk Van Leenen and a candle-lighting ceremony with representatives from the City of Chandler and local faith leaders.

A reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m.

“Voices Silenced: Music from the Holocaust will be presented by Hannah Creviston (piano), Nancy Buck (viola) and Sabrina Hu (flute).

Dirk Van Leenen’s books will be available for sale and signing before and after the program.
