In Israel, NCJW works through a gender lens, empowering Israeli and American women to advocate for a robust civil society. As in the U.S., NCJW brings our unique Jewish women’s progressive approach to advancing social justice and gender equality.
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
NCJW confronts the most urgent social and economic challenges facing women, children and families. Our mission is to safeguard human and civil rights, and improve the quality of lives across all communities. To ensure the dignity of each individual, we advocate to impact policy from the State House to the White House.
NCJW’s Arizona Section is active in the fight against sexual and domestic violence, human trafficking, child abuse and neglect, gender and pay inequity, voter suppression, biased judges and mistreatment of refugees. In today’s political environment, our focus on access to reproductive health care prompted us to file a lawsuit to stop Arizona’s new abortion ban SB1457.
NCJW AZ has recognized and responded to community needs for over a century. We helped establish Jewish Family and Children’s Services, the Child Crisis Center and the state’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program.
Now our most ambitious project is underway–the development of Ruth Place, a sexual assault trauma recovery and treatment center to empower survivors to gain control over their lives.
