(Bureau of Jewish Education) Having a baby is a MOST IMPORTANT time in a person’s life. Why not look to our Jewish community to learn about your delivery and becoming a parent at the same time as other Jewish couples. You can do this at the BJE’s JEWISH BABY UNIVERSITY for Expectant Couples.

This unique program provides instruction for childbirth, care of the mother and newborn, breast and bottle feeding along with a myriad of other topics along with learning Jewish rituals and traditions and welcoming a child to our Jewish world. Even if one parent is a different religion, you are encouraged to join in the fun. Yes, it is quite a fun experience and the best way to make friends who are all going through the same thing at the same time as you!

The BJE’s JEWISH BABY UNIVERSITY for Expectant Couples has been a hallmark of our community for over 23 years and has had almost 750 couples (and some single moms) who have participated not to mention well over 765+ children who came into this world as products of JBU! Lifelong friendships have been formed as couples learn together about becoming parents with the common denominator of our Jewish world.

Teaching the program is a labor & delivery nurse, several doctors including an OB, an anesthesiologist, a pediatrician, different rabbis, cantors, and other professionals in our community. The knowledge one receives goes way beyond anything a hospital can offer.

As one expectant parent said “We feel set-up to step into this new role and love all of the knowledge and resources provided us.” If you are expecting, check out the BJE’s Jewish Baby University at here or if you know someone who is pregnant, please let know about this wonderful opportunity at this special time in their lives.
