Summer in Arizona means sunshine, record temperatures and – believe it or not – BACK TO SCHOOL!

Back to school means, stocking up on supplies, school uniforms or dress code-approved outfits and, in many cases, personal technology. With the rising cost of … well… everything and products with high demand often in short supply, back to school shopping can quickly break the bank – or, at the very least, put a lot of pressure on a household budget.

According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), it is expected that families will spend approximately $860 on back-to-school supplies in 2022. That figure increases to nearly $1,200 for households preparing for back-to-college. The largest categories of back-to-school spending based on NRF’s findings, include electronics, clothing, accessories, and shoes.

To accommodate the increase in back-to-school/college expenses, families are cutting back in other areas, often having to choose between paying for school supplies and other household or personal needs. Jewish Free Loan (JFL) would like you to know that making these difficult choices is not the only option.

JFL offers interest-free loans to help people meet their most basic needs and achieve their long-term goals. With an online application and virtual interview process, the interest-free loans provided by JFL are an accessible and important resource for Arizona’s Jewish community. In some cases, qualified applicants may be eligible for up to $3,600 without a guarantor.
