The story of Purim celebrates two women who stand up for themselves and risk their lives, all in the name of justice. Queen Vashti protects her sovereignty and denies the objectification from the King.  When Esther is brought into the palace, she does so in disguise, unaware that she will be the one to save her people.  Check out these films that feature women in similar situations to enhance your Purim’s celebration and meaning.

HALA (2019) – This coming-of-age drama follows a Muslim teenage girl who struggles to reconcile her traditional values with her desire to pursue her dreams.
