On April 27, Center for Jewish Philanthropy’s Business & Professionals network along with Jewish Free Loan co-hosted a panel discussion in honor of Financial Literacy Month. Nearly 25 professionals gathered for networking and an informative panel discussion on investing in your financial and philanthropic future.

Panelists included Ellen Friedman Sacks, Executive Director of Jewish Free Loan (Moderator); Gail Baer, Vice President, Philanthropy at Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix; Russell Goldstein, CFP®, CAP®, CSRIC™, Senior Vice President. Private/Institutional Client Advisor; and Dr. Emily Schwartz, AVP, Financial Education Manager at MidFirst Bank.

Throughout the panel, attendees learned how to get started investing for big things like retirement or college funds and how to prioritize saving for other large expenses when getting started. Our experts discussed the common pitfalls people make when planning for the future and why it is important to consider philanthropy when thinking about future finances.

Guests were able to ask the panelists questions about the different types of investing opportunities and how to figure out how much money to aim for when it comes time to retirement. The panelists were able to share their tips on what to ask financial experts when planning for the future and how to be financially literate now and for the future.
