On October 26, 2022, Women IN Philanthropy will present Power of the Purse, an evening of celebration and connection. Held at a private home in Paradise Valley, the event featuring Amy Hirshberg Lederman, an award-winning author and nationally-syndicated columnist on Jewish life, will celebrate the impact of women in our community.
To highlight this aspect of the event, the planning committee made a commitment to work with as many woman-owned and operated companies as possible. We’ve highlighted some of these vendors below, and we hope to see you at the event as we celebrate together in person.
The Event Genies
Alyssa Belanger has more than 20 years in the event industry and is the founder of her company, The Event Genies. She has coordinated and planned hundreds of corporate and private events including trade shows, sales meetings, team building activities, birthdays, mitzvahs and holiday parties. Her goal is to help establish and develop her client’s vision while creating a meaningful and memorable event.

Shauna Violin
Shauna Hormiere has played the violin and performed for over 20 years. She has both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in violin performance. Shauna has become one of the leading violinists in the Phoenix area, and she spends her time performing in front of hundreds at weddings, private events, concert venues and restaurants. Performing makes Shauna happy and is what she loves to do.

The Liquid Wanderer
Sara Southard is owner and founder of The Liquid Wanderer, a mobile bar on wheels serving signature cocktails and mocktails! Sara loves throwing parties, and after bartending for 20 years, she put her passion for parties and experience together to make a perfect match. Sara works with her customers to create custom drinks and a unique experience for guests that will keep them talking.

Honeysblooms
A mother and daughter team, Honeysblooms is a small business that prides itself on its community-centric ideology, as well as their origins as a family-owned business. The business grew organically after Angel saw a life-size floral number on Pinterest and showed it to her mother, Honey. After Honey began to ask around to find out more about the décor that caught her daughter’s eye, she was shocked that there weren’t any local options. Honey decided to make Angel a pink floral 21 for her birthday, and their business grew from there. Since then, Honeysblooms has grown to offer all different types of installs for events including beautiful floral backdrops that have been seen at events and mall exhibits across the Valley.

STUDIO No 5
STUDIO No 5 is a professional photography studio in Scottsdale, owned by Tina Celle and Melissa Mulera. Operating for more than 14 years, Tina and Melissa offer a wide variety of photography services from event and mitzvahs to professional headshots and commercial photography. Tina has a background in the magazine fashion and beauty industry where she has photographed celebrities including Cindy Crawford and Diane Von Furstenburg. Prior to photography, Melissa worked for many years as a graphic and website designer before following her passion and taking the leap to become a professional photographer.
