Nearly 120 women gathered together on Sunday, February 26, 2023, for a breakfast and program before heading out to service projects around the Valley as a part of WIP Cares Day.

WIP Cares Day was a day of building community and social action, and women of all ages enjoyed the day of giving back and making an impact at local Jewish organziations.

Just a few highlights:

  • Over 150 Dignity Grows bags packed – JFCS will distribute these and provide 150 months’ worth of hygiene supplies to women in need.
  • 21 welcome bags and 40 stuffed animals were made for PJ Library families to enjoy at the PJ Library Family Retreat
  • 280 meals packed for families in need at AZ Kosher Pantry
  • 960 projects were prepped for the Shemesh camp program for kinder-first graders
  • 35 people made crafts, played with puppies, and participated in an interactive Megillah reading with Gesher Disability Resources
  • Over 1000 books organized in the Bureau of Jewish Education Library
  • 100 hygiene bags packed at AZ Jews for Justice for women experiencing homelessness.
  • Dozens of mishloach manot baskets and boxes of pantry staples were packed at The Florence and Harold Drucker Comfort Food Pantry in the East Valley.
  • And more!

Before heading out to the group projects, participants gathered together for breakfast, coffee, and a chance to learn about our Dignity Grows program that provides hygine products to women and girls in need. Attendees had a chance to pack a bag full of the products that were then donated to JFCS.

Thank you, again, to Stacie Brockman for generously offering to match up to $1,500 in gifts made to our Dignity Grows program, and thank you to everyone who has already contributed! If you would still like to donate, please do so here and write “Dignity Grows” in the notes.
