OneTable is hosting a special event in Phoenix around the idea that the Shabbat dinner table can be a comfortable space for deep and nuanced conversations.
In partnership with Congregation Kehillah and facilitated by Rabbi Bonnie Sharfman, you’ll have the opportunity to bring in Shabbat by sharing a meal and conversation about interfaith relationships with other interfaith couples in their 20’s and 30’s.
As a guest, you can expect to enjoy a vibey dinner party and to walk away with the skills of having attended a workshop, without the feel of a workshop itself! We’ll go beneath the surface of the topic of interfaith relationships to discuss different challenges and strengths, and gain a shared understanding of this personal, complex, nuanced, and beautiful melding of identities. All the while meeting new friends and building relationships with others who can relate to the intricacies of being in an interfaith relationship.
So in short — no PowerPoints, but LOTS of yummy food and engaging conversation over Shabbat dinner. This event is specifically geared toward people who are currently in an interfaith relationship, or where one partner converted to Judaism from another religion. Whether you’re interested in nurturing your own hosting abilities with OneTable, or looking for a space to show up as a guest with your special person, we’d love for you to join. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to OneTable’s Phoenix Community Ambassador, Aleeza (she/her).
