J Teen Connect AZ (JTCAZ), part of the Valley of the Sun J’s Youth Department, is the go-to hub for Jewish teen engagement information and opportunities across Greater Phoenix, connecting 8th–12th graders to dynamic programs that inspire/offer Jewish/Israel connection, leadership, social action, education, fitness, summer travel programs, and internship opportunities.

We provide

  • A curated website and social media showcasing programs for Jewish teens across organizations and geography in the Greater Phoenix area.
  • E-newsletters with upcoming local, national and international programs and opportunities.
  • Incentive subsidies to support participation in Jewish/Israel overnight, immersive experiences.
  • Grants for outreach Jewish/Israel programming not otherwise funded.
  • Training programs for and collaboration opportunities with Jewish teen program directors.

You will report to the Chief Officer of Youth and Family Programs at the Valley of the Sun J.

Oversight will also be provided by lay leadership.

Our mission is to serve as a hub of high-quality opportunities for Jewish teens to build meaningful, lifelong connections with the Jewish community and to Israel.

Position: Associate Program Manager

We are seeking an Associate Program Director to support VBM in our Scottsdale office. This position would be responsible for leading and assisting with in-person and virtual events, supporting development activities, organizing activism efforts, engaging in community outreach and general office administration. Examples include (but are not limited to):

– planning volunteer events for people of all ages in the Greater Phoenix area that are inspired by Jewish values.

Position: Outreach Coordinator

We are looking for an Outreach Coordinator to support our social action initiative, Arizona Jews for Justice (AJJ). AJJ works to support vulnerable people in our community and uplift populations such as people experiencing homelessness, refugees and asylum seekers.

Duties:
– Hand out life-saving supplies such as food, water, clothing and other necessities to people living in the streets
– Develop and maintain professional relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and volunteers
– Support volunteer events, workshops, and presentations to educate the community on relevant topics and assemble supplies
– Shop for supplies and pickup donations from community partners
– Write daily reports, including pictures, that detail the number of people served and stories of impact
– Assist people by connecting them with appropriate resources such as shelters and addiction services
– Drive a converted school bus to hand out supplies in the streets and perform administrative duties at the office
– Represent AJJ in activist spaces such as rallies and protests

The Union for Reform Judaism seeks a NFTY Regional Mentor to assist in creating vibrant year-round youth engagement experiences and communities of belonging that build confidence and character of teens from a wide range of backgrounds (including people of color, persons with disabilities, individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, and other often underrepresented groups).
