Duane Roen developed this workshop immediately after seeing a Theater of War production of Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen’s 1882 play Enemy of the People. Duane had read the play decades earlier in high school, and it made him reflect on the nature of courage. However, when he saw the production in February 2024, his emotional response was so strong that Duane spent the rest of the evening reading about the topic and drafting questions for discussion and writing.
In this workshop we will reflect on our thoughts about courage and our experiences with courage. Please bring paper and a pencil/pen to class.
Dates of series: November 7, 14 and 21 from 1:30-3:30pm
