Acrylic Painting with Nancy Troupe

This 6-week acrylics painting class is for both beginner to intermediate level. Each of the sessions will be dedicated to a different subject matter with the main focus on landscape, still life and portrait. The step-by-step instruction will cover a variety of techniques as well as introducing students to the fundamentals of painting- composition, proportions, color mixing, texture and more. There will be an individual approach to each student’s level and needs. All materials provided. Dates of the series: April 3, 10, 17, 24 . May 1 and 8 from 10am-noon Meet your instructor: Nancy TroupeBorn and raised in Southern California, I had an early love for art and creativity. High school and college were filled with 2D and 3D art courses.  Later, while raising a family, I worked from home creating t-shirt designs, business logos and commission work. Later, I operated a mural business in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area where I could pursue my love of “painting big”. For over 15 years I was on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Art Alliance, a nonprofit organization comprised of over 4,000 artists from 33 Arizona-based art groups. I showed art in the Art Alliance Gallery at the Pavilions at Talking Stick, and also had a large painting on exhibit n the AZ State Capital for 1 year.  I have been a “Teaching Artist” for several years, listed with the Arizona Commission on the Arts, having worked as Art Director for a K-8 charter school, as an instructor for the City of Phoenix, the City of Glendale, and private community centers throughout Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix area.  Art and teaching are both passions of mine. I am happiest when I can inspire someone to feel the delight of creating something new and fun.
