In this class with My Jewish Learning, Hebrew professor Dr. Tamar Kamionkowski will teach some features of the Hebrew language needed to understand a few of the most familiar High Holidays prayers. Learn the language of the mahzor, the prayer book used on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, so that you’ll be more confident walking into High Holidays services — in person or online — in a few weeks. The class is three sessions — join for as many as you’re able.

About Dr. Tamar Kamionkowski: Tamar Kamionkowski is professor of Bible at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, where she has been training rabbinical students for over 20 years. She holds a B.A from Oberlin College, an M.T.S from Harvard Divinity School and a Ph.D in Near Eastern and Judaic studies from Brandeis University.
