Come get a taste of what Hebrew High’s all about! While parents enjoy an info session with Principal Rabbi Aviva, rising 9th-12th graders will have the chance to experience our classes and meet the students and teachers of Hebrew High! We are thrilled to invite you and look forward to sharing all about our important programs and exciting opportunities!
WHAT IS HEBREW HIGH?
Hebrew High of Greater Phoenix is the only non-affiliated Jewish learning center and community for teens from across the Valley. Providing Hebrew for credit and unique classes built on meaningful dialogue, Israel & social justice trips (CAREaVAN!), special events, volunteering and so much more!
Hebrew High meets at the Ina Levine JCC in Scottsdale Tuesdays at 7-9pm. Additionally, Hebrew courses meet Thursdays at 7pm.
First Hour: Grade Level Seminar (predetermined topic) OR Hebrew for Credit
Second Hour: Student-selected Elective
WHAT IS HEBREW FOR CREDIT?
Our Hebrew program holds full accreditation from COGNIA, ensuring that our classes meet state foreign language requirements and are recognized by high schools throughout the valley. Students earn 1 credit unit for the year and come twice a week (Tuesdays 7-9, Thursdays 7-8:30). We offer all levels of Hebrew language and have an incredible team qualified educators who are committed to fun, engaging learning. This is an optional program for those who wish to take Hebrew.
WHAT KIND OF CLASSES ARE OFFERED?
Oh, we have amazing options! Jewish thought (ethics and values), cooking, film, sports, comparative religion, plenty of different Israel courses (from history, to innovation to political affairs)… All classes are decided based on students’ interests. Check out current and past courses!
