“The Prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah” course in February

“The Prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah: Two Sophisticated and Innovative Thinkers,” will be offered on four Thursday mornings in February.

Led by Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan, the course is designed for all people of faith who are interested in studying the Book of Prophets. In ancient Judea 2,500 years ago, Jeremiah and Isaiah advised kings and priests on how to understand justice and ethics. 

“We will be telling the story of not only Isaiah and Jeremiah but their entire generations and how they dealt with a very dangerous world and very threatening neighbors. Both were sophisticated and innovative thinkers who took ideas emanating from the imperial centers of their time and fused them with their own traditions, creating a new ethical approach to Judaism,” Kaplan explained.
