The Phoenix Zoo is hosting Ramat Gan Safari Park for an evening dedicated to the conservation of the Eurasian griffon vulture. Ramat Gan Safari has done amazing cutting edge work to conserve this highly endangered species and two of their prominent veterinarians, Dr. David Eshar and Dr. Gilead Goldstein, will be traveling all the way from Israel to discuss their important work. Net proceeds from the evening will go towards supporting Ramat Gan Safari’s vulture conservation program.
This event is important to the city of Phoenix and it’s Sister Cities program and will raise the profile of the Phoenix Zoo for it’s initiative with this collaboration. Inspired by our staff photo exhibit last summer, the evening will include an exhibition of photography taken by the staff of both the Phoenix Zoo and Ramat Gan Safari, highlighting the similarities in our two organizations which are located a half a world apart. We will start with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00 pm to open the exhibit before heading to the Doornbos Amphitheater for an interesting presentation starting at 6:00 pm of Ramat Gan Safari’s vulture conservation work. Following will be a tram ride back to the Savanna Grill for food, beverages and a more detailed viewing of the exhibit.
Ticket prices have been kept at only $25.00 to encourage everyone to attend and bring lots of friends. You can purchase tickets from the link in the attached invitation. I hope you will all come to the Zoo on Sunday, October 15th, and help support the Phoenix Zoo, the Eurasian griffon vultures and the city of Phoenix’s Sister Cities program. Feel free to forward the invitation and link to others you think may be interested.
