In August, Temple Emanuel of Tempe (TEOT) debuted its new “Young Families Program” with more than 100 people attending its first Tot Shabbat program of the year, followed up by last week’s successful shofar-blowing program event at South Mountain.
Rabbi Olshein said, “Participation in age-appropriate High Holy Days’ services is critical to identity formation for Jewish children. At Temple Emanuel, we work hard to create meaning-filled worship balanced with fun memories our children will remember. Allowing this kind of open-to-the-community worship allows us to share the joy of practicing Judaism with our smallest worshipers so they will always love being, and doing, Jewish.”
On Sunday, October 16, at 5:30pm, TEOT is hosting a special Young Families Simchat Torah program preceding Erev Simchat Torah festival worship with the Rural Street Klezmer Band at 6:30pm. Both events take place at Temple Emanuel. Online RSVPs requested for both the Young Families program and festival services by 10/13.
Temple Emanuel of Tempe is the only full-service Reform Jewish congregation in the southeast Phoenix valley and is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. TEOT is located at 5901 S. Rural Road (approximately 1 mile south of US60, 2 miles east of I-10, and 2 miles west of SR101).
