So Hanukkah snuck up on me unprepared. I had just returned from Thanksgiving back east, and suddenly Hanukkah was upon us. I hadn’t paid attention prior, and had no candles when it arrived. This went on for a couple of days because there were no spaces near me that sold Hanukkah candles.

But the other day I was chatting with a pastor at a church near me. We were discussing other biz, when I shared my tale of Hanukkah candle-less woe. She mentioned that they had a box of Hanukkah candles, as they had lit a menorah the first night to honor the holiday. She offered me the remainder of the Hanukkah candles if I needed them.

The next day I swung by her church and took her up on the offer as they were the closest candles to me. So last night I finally got to light the Hanukkah candles. Not quite a Hanukkah miracle, but a nice tale of Hanukkah interfaith connections to celebrate the Festival of Lights.
