The Center for Jewish Philanthropy is excited to partner with Western Spirit, Scottsdale’s Museum of the West for two special screenings of “Jews of the Wild West” in support from the Greater Phoenix Jewish Film Festival and Arizona Jewish Historical Society.

The feature length documentary is an independent not-for-profit project produced by Electric Yolk Media and directed by award-winning filmmaker Amanda Kinsey. Through on-camera interviews, compelling footage and historical photographs, the film tells a positive immigration story and highlights the dynamic contributions Jewish Americans made to shaping the Western United States.

The screenings will take place at Western Spirit on Sunday, March 19, and Sunday March 26 from 2-4PM. Attendance is limited and free for registered guests thanks to a sponsorship by Frankie and Howie Alper. Museum admission required to experience galleries and/or tours.

“Sharing Jewish history of the West with the Phoenix Jewish community in the home of Western Art in Scottsdale, is a win-win plan, where both groups can appreciate and enjoy the respective cultures and learn from each other,” shared Frankie and Howie. “Through this unique prize-winning film, both groups will benefit. It is our pleasure to sponsor this activity.”

“Jews of the Wild West” was recently named Reader’s Choice Best Western Documentary by True West Magazine. Watch a trailer of the film below and register online through this link.
