At the heart of NowGen, the young adult division of the Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix (CJP), lies the mission to inspire and empower our community’s young adults to become the leaders of today and tomorrow in the Phoenix Jewish community. Leadership and Advancement Series (LAS) stands out as one of our most impactful programs.

The Leadership and Advancement Series (LAS) is your gateway to professional, personal, and community growth, offering invaluable insights, skills, and experiences to elevate every aspect of your life.

In LAS, you’ll join one of four groups comprising ten to twelve individuals, each guided by a distinguished community leader, or ‘mentor’. Together, you’ll learn from peers, guest speakers, and your mentor, who bring a wealth of experience from leading major companies, transforming communities, and igniting positive change with integrity and passion.

LAS is more than just a program; it’s a platform to identify and empower the brightest young talents, enriching their personal skills and deepening their understanding of the Jewish community.

This past year, participants met bi-monthly under the guidance of their mentors, gaining insights and inspiration from each other and esteemed guest speakers. Our phenomenal mentors, Steven Schwarz, Julie Bennett, Morrie Aaron, & Michelle Kort, have left anindelible mark on our community through their unwavering commitment and passion.

Applications are now open for the fifth cohort of LAS. Open to Jewish professionals in their mid-20s to mid-40s, the program runs from August 2024 to May 2025, commencing with a kick-off event on May 21, 2024.
