This award is presented in memory of Belle Latchman, who gave herself to many causes in both the Jewish and general communities. She was committed to strengthening Jewish life in Phoenix, as well as establishing positive ties between the Jewish and general communities. She was the recipient of many awards and honors and served as the first woman president of the Jewish Federation. The award was established in 1983 in her honor.

The Belle Latchman Community Service Award shall be presented in recognition of an outstanding current contribution to the enhancement of the quality of life in the Greater Phoenix area by a local non-profit Jewish agency, organization, institution, or committee.

Contributions should involve innovative, constructive forms of service that perpetuate Jewish values. Programs of any size, including those done within an organization, as well as those that involve the community at large, will be given consideration.

The award will be presented at CJP’s campaign breakfast on March 7, 2024.
