Temperatures are rising, school is almost out, and programming in our Jewish community is beginning to slow down. All signs that summer is quickly approaching.

To celebrate the start of summer and the end of a successful first season of our newly relaunched Business & Professionals (B&P) network, Center for Jewish Philanthropy (CJP) teamed up with Arizona Jewish Lawyers Association (AJLA) to host a casual happy hour event on May 16 at Buck & Rider – North Scottsdale.

More than 60 professionals from across all industries gathered for a fun night of networking and connecting with other local professionals in our Jewish community. Attendees enjoyed the chance to get together for one last time before the slower summer season kicks in, and it was a great opportunity to continue building relationships and create new ones.

After a nearly three year hiatus, the B&P network hosted six events in the first half of 2023 that saw close to 150 unique participants. Over the past several months, attendees in the B&P network learned about estate planning, the importance of building your personal brand, the ins-and-outs of artificial intelligence, how to set yourself up for financial success and the latest legislative updates that affect nonprofits from an outstanding group of presenters.

“The goal of the Business & Professionals Network is to strengthen relationships among Jewish professionals through education, networking and communal and philanthropic engagement,” shared Director of Community Engagement at CJP, Jennifer Starrett. “I think we definitely accomplished those goals by providing opportunities to learn and expand professional and social circles, and I look forward to more opportunities during the second half of our program year.”
